Claims Procedure
In the event of an incident likely to result in a claim, a Claim Form should be completed and emailed to claims@pfiis.com, faxed or posted to us (see contact details) immediately. Our claims department will respond without delay.
We endeavour to deal with the majority of claims from London. Where this is not possible we have appointed, in conjunction with our Lloyd’s underwriters, a worldwide network of claims agents who are able to deal with claims locally. If necessary, contact details for specific claims agents will be provided when a claim is made.
To further assist, temporary or complete repairs can be carried out up to a cost of GBP 750, provided we have received the Claim Form with estimates.
We do, where possible, require two alternative estimates of repairs. In most instances we can authorise repairs by return. From experience, where repairs can be carried out locally, we recommend that you give your own instructions to the repairers. We will then reimburse you less the policy excess (deductible).
The cost of removal of vehicle after an accident to the nearest competent repairer or safe storage, up to GBP 500, is covered under this insurance.
Should you wish settlement of your claim to be paid directly into a Bank Account, this can be arranged.
We will require the account name, bank name and address, sort code, swift code or ABA number and the account/reference number.
Where a vehicle is severely damaged or stolen we always require a police report. If a vehicle is considered beyond economical repair, we expect the assistance of the policyholder in disposal of the salvage. Please note, in respect of total loss claims, we require sight of the purchase invoice/receipt for the vehicle.
